Alex Ghodsi - Chairman of the Board and CEO

Alex Ghodsi

Alireza (Alex) Ghodsi born in Tehran, Iran has been living in Houston Texas since 1972.  He is an active alumnus of the University of Houston earning his Master of Civil Engineering degree in 1978 and is a licensed professional engineer. He was privileged to be asked to give the commencement address for the May, 2009 graduating class of the University of Houston Cullen College of Engineering.

Alex co-founded and currently holds the position of Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Rigid Global Buildings, LTD. (RGB) In January, 2011, RGB went global when it merged with Jin Huan Steel Structures.  This transition into the global market brought the financial stability that Alex was looking for as well as a means to reach a larger international audience.

The international market is not unknown to Alex.  In his previous position as Executive Vice President and co-owner he has spent over twenty- five years developing, selling and managing international offices and projects.  He broadened the market by opening offices in The Philippines and Seoul, Korea in the mid 1990’s.   Alex was privileged in December, 2010 to be among the select few Iranian- American Businessmen to travel with Paul Brinkley, Deputy Secretary of Defense to Robert Gates, to Afghanistan and Basra, Iraq to discuss how the private sector could help in the rebuilding of these two countries.  He was honored to meet and speak with General David Petraeus, the commander of the US and NATO forces in Afghanistan.

Alex has been married to his wife, Joanna for 43 years and they have two children. A daughter, who is a practicing OB/GYN in Los Angeles, CA, and is currently a contributing writer for “Elite Daily Magazine”, and a son who is a graduate of The Art Institute of Houston Culinary Program but is currently working as a District Sales Manager for RGB.

 

Bowen Lo – President and COO

Bowen Lo

Bowen Lo, MBA was the leading factor behind the new relationship between Jinhuan and Rigid. Bowen, an industry professional, oversees the financial stability of the company.  As President and COO of Rigid Global Buildings, Mr. Lo oversees the daily financial responsibilities of the company as well as Purchasing and Human Resources.  Bowen also sits on the Board of Directors.  Mr. Lo has an extensive background within the Metal Building industry including working with The Bradbury Group as the General Manager for the Asia Pacific Region.

Throughout the years Bowen has continued to build international relationships and improving sales for all parties involved.  He specializes in:

Bowen received his Bachelor of Arts in International Trade from the Fu Jen University in Taiwan in 1977 and received his MBA from the University of Houston in 1979.  Born in Taiwan, Bowen is a US citizen and now resides in Houston, Texas.  Bowen utilizes his excellent communication skills by acting as the liaison between the American and Chinese Cultures.

 

Gary Yuen – Vice President of Finance and Accounting

Gary Yen

Gary Yuen  comes to Rigid Global Buildings with a wealth of experience in both finance and accounting. He has been working for several multinational public companies for more than 18 years in US and overseas.

During his professional career, he has performed various positions, such as Financial Controller, Treasury Accounting Manager, Internal Auditor to name a few. He started his audit career with Ernst & Young LLP in 2005. Before his finance and accounting career, Mr. Yuen had a decade of experience in the Flow Control business. As a control valve expert, he served as Application Engineer for two leading companies in the industry.

Mr. Yuen was born and raised in Hong Kong, China, and is fluent in both Mandarin and Cantonese Chinese. He has a Master of Accountancy degree from the University of Nevada, Reno and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Brigham Young University.

John Long – Vice President Engineering & IT

John Long

For over 32 years, John Long has been engineering metal buildings.  Having received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Cincinnati in 1983 John has continued to use his knowledge and expertise to engineer and design unique and intricate pre-engineered metal buildings.

Over the course of his career, John worked his way up the ranks starting out as a Design Engineer for Armco Building Systems in Cincinnati Ohio.  While he was with Armco he was responsible for the design and cost estimates for a variety of metal building projects ensuring they were compliant with the applicable design codes.

Armco was eventually purchased by Steelox Systems.  John continued his career with Steelox for the next 20 years until the company could no longer stay open.  It was then he moved to Houston, Texas and became the Vice President of Engineering for Rigid Building Systems, and now Rigid Global Buildings.

John is proficient with a wide range of design and engineering software including: RamSteel, Mathcad, AutoCAD, Microstation, Visio, Pro/Engineer, ManagePro as well as International standards for AISC, AISI, ASCE for steel structures.

John is responsible for the Engineering Department at Rigid Global Buildings including budget management, project management and supervising over 100 engineers, estimators, CADD operators and detailers as well as the IT Department.  John is a registered Professional Engineer in the following states:

David King – Vice President of Operations

David King

David King joined Rigid Building Systems / Rigid Global Buildings in August 2000 as Customer Service Manager. In August of 2001 he was appointed to the position of Operations Manager and later Vice President of Operations. In his current position, Mr. King is responsible for Sales Service, Scheduling, Shop Production, Shipping and Customer Service.

Mr. King brings 44 years of experience to Rigid and has held several positions from various firms throughout his career including CAD Department Supervisor, Chief Draftsman, Retro-Roof Division Supervisor, and Product Development Manager.  Mr. King also worked internationally as Drafting Manager for Zamil Steel Buildings in Saudi Arabia from 1983 to 1989.

Mr King attended Rose College in Oklahoma where he pursued architectural and drafting technology studies before starting his career in the metal building industry.

Outside the office, Mr. King is active in the cycling community by way of riding, collecting and restoring bicycles of all kinds with a collection dating back to the 1880’s. His six grand children definitely get noticed as they ride the “coolest” of vintage bikes around their neighborhoods.

Aaron Westover – Vice President Energy Division


Aaron Westover is no stranger to the Metal Building Industry.  This Iowa born native entered the metal building industry in 2000 as a Regional Director of Sales for Wedgcor.  During his six years with Wedgcor Aaron managed a seven member sales team repeatedly meeting and exceeding his budget year after year.  In addition to managing his sales team Aaron was also a top producer for sales for his territory.

In 2006 Mr. Westover joined the Rigid team as Sales Manager for the Central Region.  He again showed his strength in sales and management as not only the top producer for individual sales but also top producing territory.   The energy sector (blast buildings in particular) started growing from a construction standpoint and Aaron realized there was a unique fit for blast certified pre-engineered buildings.  It was that realization that moved Mr. Westover to become instrumental in the creation of Rigid's Energy Division.  As VP of the Energy Division, Aaron educated construction companies, oil companies, architects, etc. on the values and benefits of a certified blast resistant pre-engineered metal building.

Mr. Westover studied banking and finance at Buena Visty University in Storm Lake Iowa.  Outside the office, Aaron enjoys spending time with his family and golfing.

Myles Millard – Vice President Structural Steel Division


Myles Millard comes to Rigid Global Buildings with over 36 years in the structural steel and metal building industry.  He provides the overall strategic direction and leadership for the Structural Steel Division. Myles started his career as an operator with Trinity Industries/Mosher Steel where he learned the structural steel business hands on from the ground up.

His career has advanced through the positions of drafting, shipping, purchasing, estimating district manager, project manager, contracts, construction erection in both structural and metal building, sales manager, into the leadership position of today.  Some of his early projects included the South Texas Nuclear Power Plant, Transco Tower, Bullwinkle Shell Platform, George R. Brown.  Myles brings a wealth of experience to Rigid to lead the structural steel division and mentor the next generation.  He is considered a subject matter expert in the structural steel construction community.  He specializes in multi-story buildings, retail, warehouses, stadiums, healthcare facilities, religious facilities, power plants and educational facilities.

Myles and his wife have 3 children and 3 granddaughters.  He enjoys spending time with his family, hunting and fishing.  He is past-president of GCCA.
