Steve Olson began his career in the metal building industry in 1990 as a District Manager. He quickly moved through the ranks and at his last position at another metal building manufacturer, oversaw sales activities. He joined Rigid Building Systems in April 1998 as a District Manager covering the Western half of the U.S. to assist Rigid in expanding its territory. To facilitate the expansion plan, Mr. Olson was given approval to open a Western Regional Sales office in Denver, CO in December of 1998. At that time, he was promoted to Western Regional Sales Manager. His duties included, but were not limited to hiring and training of new sales personnel, overseeing estimating and coordinating activities in the Western Region Sales office. With the success of the regional office well entrenched, Mr. Olson was promoted to Vice President of Sales and Marketing in 2002 and relocated to the home office in Houston to oversee all the sales and marketing activities for Rigid. Under his guidance, Rigid has enjoyed substantial growth during his tenure. The Western Regional Sales office has continued to expand and now is the office for not only the Western Region of the U.S. but added the Eastern Region sales team as well. The Denver office is also home to our Builder Development Group for our Authorized Builder Program.
Rigid Building Systems became Rigid Global Buildings in 2010 when the partnership agreement with Jinhuan was completed. At that time and due to organizational strengthening, Mr. Olson was promoted to the newly created position of Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. He continues to oversee all aspects of Rigid’s sales and marketing programs along with additional duties in working with Rigid’s Board of Directors on guiding Rigid Global Buildings future growth and direction.
