Rigid Global Buildings Honors Employees for Safety Contest

Rigid Global Buildings, a leading manufacturer in the steel building industry, recently held their annual safety poster contest. This contest consists of three categories; Employee, Spouse of an Employee, and kids of an employee.

The winning posters are displayed in the main office, and manufacturing areas. For the second year in a row Afshin Saleh took the top honors in the Employee category. Afshin’s oil painting of welding safety is an amazing showcase of not only the importance of safety but the amazing talent he has as a gifted painter. Afshin works in the maintenance department for Rigid Global Buildings.

The contest was designed to help promote safety awareness throughout the company. Ron Obey, Safety Director for Rigid Global Buildings understands the importance of safety in a manufacturing environment. Through the Safety Department, Rigid offers safety training not only for the manufacturing department buy companywide. Every employee at Rigid is required to take a safety course as a part of their new employee orientation. Ron goes above and beyond with informational emails on safety, health, hydration and any other topics that would benefit the employees.

Rigid Global Industries Releases new Brochure

August 12, 2011– HOUSTON, TX – Rigid Global Industries has released a new 64 page brochure to present the new company’s broad range of products and services to their global customer base. The new brochure features the products, services and projects of Rigid Global Buildings, Rigid Global Components, Rigid Global Bridges, Rigid Global Services and Rigid Global Real Estate. Fabulous photography shows off major infrastructure and steel building projects from around the world including the Jinzhou International Hotel in Guangzhou, China, the Qatar Doha High-Rise Office Building, and the Huto River Bridge.

Rigid recently received the US Department of Energy and US Environmental Protection Agency Energy Star approval rating for their pre-painted steel building roofing panels. The Energy Star rating was approved for 30 different paint colors from Light Stone to Gallery Blue that help lower roof temperatures and save both energy and money.

RIGID GLOBAL BUILDINGS ACHIEVES A 100% ACCIDENT-FREE YEAR

5/10/11– Houston, TX – Rigid Global Buildings Systems, manufacturer of steel buildings, recently celebrated 365 days injury-free. According to the April 2011 Labor Defense Project Report, which was written in collaboration with the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement at the University of Texas at Austin, “Texas is the most deadly place to work in construction, with a worker dying every 2.5 days and nearly 16,900 accidents annually.”

“Once again it’s confirmed – hard work pays off. Here at Rigid Global we all work very hard to maintain our plant accident-free.” Steve Olson, VP of Sales/Marketing for Rigid proudly stated. “Last year we aimed for a 100 percent injury-free workplace and we achieved that goal”.

Rigid Global has implemented a Safety Awareness Poster Contest, which they believe is a major contributing factor to achieving their accident-free goal. The contest is composed of three categories and Rigid’s employees and their families are encouraged to participate. First, Second and Third Place prizes of $50, $25 and $10, respectively, are awarded and the winning posters are laminated, framed and hung at various locations throughout Rigid’s steel buildings plants.

“We strongly believe that by involving not only our employees but, also their family members to participate in this contest, we get everyone focusing on keeping safety in the workplace as a main objective – and, it’s obviously working out”, added Olson.

Rigid Global Industries Executives Visit China Facilities

Recently, top level executives visited the Rigid Global Industries operations is Shijiazhuang, (Hebei Province) China. The executives included Mr. Alex Ghodsi (CMO, Chairman of the Board), Mr. Bowen Lo (COO), Mr. Steve Olson (Exec. VP) and Ms. Carrie Miller (PR& Marketing Mgr). The primary focus of the trip was to meet with executives at our China operations for strategic planning sessions, tour the steel fabrication plant facility along with plant tours of associated companies. Those associated companies included tool and die/stamping operations as well as pharmaceutical accessories manufacturing. All executives of Rigid Global commented on the innovativeness and unwavering dedication to the success of each of the operations by its directors and employees. In addition to the steel fabrication plant and associated companies tours; jobsites visits of completed projects along with some projects under construction were part of the agenda. The highlight of the jobsite visits was the single family home development in a land of high rise construction. This unique project features a private villa development of 500 homes complete with a winding lazy river and several large square footage community and recreation centers located throughout the development.

The trip was not all business for the executives as they concluded the trip with visits to the Great Wall of China, the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and notable Olympic venues from the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
